The Story of Jacob Green

A Short Video for the National Park Service Allegheny Portage Railroad about the story of Jacob Green

This is a video we made for the Allegheny Portage Railroad about the harrowing story of Jacob Green, a black man who used the Allegheny Portage Railroad to escape slavery in Pre-Civil War America. We worked with an artist to make these paintings and wrote the copy with the pictures. The original idea was to just use a touchscreen for a slide show, but we thought would be boring. So we made a short movie with sound effects and music we added and presented it to the client. The client much preferred this movie and it was installed. The effect is a far better experience and a more powerful story about a important story at an important time in America's history.
