The heart of the museum is its collection of recipient interviews. Organized into a searchable database, recipient interviews cover WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Iraq. More..

The museums long term goal is to create as comprehensive a database of Purple Heart recipints as possible. The challenge for The Magic Lantern was to create a database that would allow for staff entry of existing paper records, computer input from staff and visitors and the merging of existing computer records of different formats. The database in currently accessible at station in the museum, but will eventually be available on the internet.

The Magic Lantern was also responsible for creating an interview studio in the museum and training the museum's staff to conduct and shoot new recipient interviews.
