Our History & Vision
Founded in 1973, The Magic Lantern is a company that believes in the
audio/visual media. We believe in the ability of audio/visual to inform... to
excite... to involve... to tell stories. Over the years we have used our skills
in the service of corporate, government and non-profit clients, but in recent
years our focus has been in the museum area.
We have gravitated to the museum area because of a special array of talents and
skills that match those required by museum exhibits. Typically, museum exhibits
require more than just video or film production... they require the ability to
research and write compelling stories... they require the ability to integrate
interactive and web based elements... they require the ability to use new
technologies and to integrate those new technologies with existing systems...
and finally, museum exhibits require the skills necessary to install and
maintain them.
The Magic Lantern has all of these capabilities. That's why, in so many cases,
we are chosen to consult, research, write, produce and install the audio/visual
elements for large exhibits.
